SEA Symposium 2014 – A massive success – Thank you!

The 3rd Annual Southeast Asian Studies Symposium was held on 22 – 23 March 2014 and it was a huge success.  Thank you to all participants for making the Southeast Asian Studies Symposium 2014 such an amazing event. Special congratulations to the conference team for all their hard work over the past few months and over the very hectic two days.

Some brief statistics

– 310 participants from 32 countries
– 166 papers in 36 academic roundtables
– 7 roundtables involving cabinet ministers, politicians, diplomats, NGOs, business leaders, and academics
– government representatives from six ASEAN countries, from the UK, EU, and UN
– The Symposium opened and closed with messages from  two Nobel Peace Prize laureates, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi and Jose Ramos-Horta
– by far the largest annual Southeast Asian Studies conference in the world
